Aged Brushed Brass is a warm and refined finish that combines the natural character of genuine brass with a softly brushed surface and a subtly aged appearance. It offers an inviting golden tone without the bright shine associated with polished hardware.
Fine directional brushing gently diffuses reflected light, while the aged detailing adds depth and character. The result feels established and timeless rather than overly glossy or decorative.
The collection includes cabinet handles, drawer knobs, T-bars and furniture pulls. You can therefore choose the most practical hardware style for each cabinet or drawer while maintaining one coordinated finish throughout the room.
The finish usually has a muted golden base with soft brown, bronze or deeper brass undertones. It is warmer than silver-toned hardware but more restrained than bright gold or polished brass.
Its fine brushed texture creates subtle directional lines across the surface. These lines reduce excessive shine and give handles and knobs a softer, more tactile appearance. Gentle colour variation also prevents the metal from looking flat or overly uniform.
The exact appearance depends partly on the shape of the hardware. Smooth handles may show the brushed surface more evenly, while ribbed, fluted or detailed designs create deeper shadows around grooves, edges and recessed areas.
Warm indoor lighting often emphasises the golden tones, while natural daylight may reveal more of the muted brown or bronze character.
The surrounding cabinet colour also affects how the metal is perceived. Against pale furniture, it may appear deeper and more defined. On dark cabinetry, the warmer metallic highlights can become more noticeable.
Product photographs should therefore be viewed as a close representation. Screen settings, room lighting and nearby colours may influence how the final tone appears in your space.
Aged Brushed Brass is less reflective than polished brass, polished gold or chrome. However, it is not completely matt. The surface can still catch the light and reveal soft metallic highlights.
This balance makes it suitable for interiors that need a premium brass detail without a highly reflective appearance. It remains decorative without dominating the surrounding furniture.
Our Aged Brushed Brass handles, knobs and pulls are made from genuine solid brass. They are not plastic or lightweight alloy products designed only to imitate the appearance of brass.
Real brass gives each piece authentic metallic character and a reassuring, substantial feel. This difference becomes noticeable during everyday use whenever a cabinet, drawer or wardrobe is opened.
The material is especially suitable for quality cabinetry, bespoke furniture and restoration projects. Instead of adding only a brass-coloured decorative layer, solid brass hardware becomes a considered part of the furniture design.
Solid brass hardware generally feels heavier and more substantial than plastic, hollow or lightweight alternatives. Even a small knob or T-bar can make a cabinet front feel more refined when it has the weight of genuine metal.
The material also complements the aged surface naturally. The hardware does not simply reproduce the colour of brass; it provides the look, feel and metallic quality of real brass.
Brass finishes vary in colour, texture and shine. This option offers a useful middle ground between clean contemporary brass and darker traditional finishes.
Polished Brass has a bright, smooth and highly reflective appearance. It creates a stronger decorative statement and can feel more formal or glamorous.
The aged brushed option is softer and more muted. Its fine texture reduces reflection, while the deeper tone adds visual depth. Choose it when you want the warmth of brass without mirror-like shine.
Standard Brushed Brass usually has a cleaner and more even golden appearance. It is often associated with contemporary kitchens, wardrobes and minimalist furniture.
Aged Brushed Brass retains the refined directional texture but adds a more established and character-rich tone.
Antique Brass generally has deeper brown tones and more pronounced darkened details. It often creates a stronger vintage or traditional effect.
The aged brushed finish tends to feel lighter, softer and more refined. Its visible texture creates a cleaner appearance, while the muted colour prevents it from looking new or overly bright.
The softened golden tone complements light neutrals, dark statement colours and natural wood. It introduces warmth without creating an overly sharp contrast.
White, cream, beige and warm grey furniture provides a calm background for the finish. The metal adds definition and warmth while preserving a light and balanced appearance.
It also works well with marble, stone-effect worktops and surfaces containing cream, beige, brown or soft grey veining.
Navy blue, forest green, charcoal and black create an elegant contrast with the warm brass surface. The metallic detail becomes more visible against darker furniture without appearing as bright as polished gold.
Muted colours such as sage green, dusty blue, clay and warm grey also pair naturally with this finish. These combinations suit kitchens, bathroom vanities, wardrobes and freestanding furniture.
Oak, walnut and other warm timber finishes complement Aged Brushed Brass particularly well. The natural warmth of the wood connects with the softened golden character of the metal.
On pale wood, the hardware introduces depth and definition. On dark wood, the subtle metallic highlights provide contrast while maintaining a refined and coordinated appearance.
The same finish can create different effects depending on the shape and size of the hardware. Simple forms feel more contemporary, while decorative shapes emphasise its traditional character.
Knobs create a compact and understated brass detail. They are well suited to upper kitchen cabinets, bedside tables, dressers and smaller furniture doors.
Simple round designs offer a clean appearance. Ribbed, shaped or decorative knobs create additional highlights and shadows that make the aged surface more visible.
Handles and pulls create a stronger visual line across cabinet and drawer fronts. They are suitable for kitchen drawers, wardrobes, sideboards, bathroom vanities and built-in storage.
Long straight pulls give the finish a more structured and contemporary look. Curved, fluted or decorative handles create a softer and more traditional result.
T-bars provide more visual structure than a standard round knob while remaining compact. They work particularly well on smaller drawers, cabinet doors and furniture where a long pull may feel too large.
They can also be combined with longer matching pulls, allowing different hardware types to be used while maintaining one coordinated metal finish.
You do not need to use the same hardware shape on every door and drawer. For example, choose longer pulls for wide drawers, T-bars for smaller fronts and matching knobs for upper cabinets.
Keeping the finish consistent connects the different designs. At the same time, choosing an appropriate shape for each furniture front improves practicality and visual balance.
When combining products from separate collections, compare the photographs on each product page. Small variations in tone, texture and reflection may occur between different designs.
Aged Brushed Brass works in both traditional and modern interiors because it combines a clean brushed texture with softer aged character.
In contemporary spaces, simple bar handles and streamlined pulls add warmth to minimal furniture. In classic interiors, shaped knobs and decorative handles strengthen the timeless appearance.
The finish is particularly suitable for:
Clean the hardware gently with a soft, dry cloth. When additional cleaning is required, use a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface afterwards.
Avoid abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals and aggressive metal-polishing products. These may affect the brushed texture, alter the intended tone or create uneven areas.
Always wipe in the direction of the visible brushed lines. Do not polish the hardware as though it were bright, untreated brass, because the softened colour and aged appearance are intentional features.
Regular gentle cleaning helps remove fingerprints, dust and moisture while preserving the intended character of the finish.
Aged Brushed Brass is an excellent choice when polished gold feels too bright and darker Antique Brass feels too traditional. It offers a balanced combination of warmth, texture and softly aged character.
Explore handles, knobs, T-bars and pulls made from genuine solid brass. Combine different hardware shapes while maintaining one coordinated finish across cabinets, drawers, wardrobes and furniture.
From small updates to complete transformations, our hardware helps interiors feel more thoughtful, finished and full of character.
Great quality item, good weight
I am beyond happy with my order. The cabinet handles are simply STUNNING, HEAVY AND BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED. I will order again from Carl. Thank you.
Very fast shipping and the quality is perfect and feels heavy!
Excellent the product and the colour is so nice!
These are absolutely stunning and very nice quality!
Items were packed well and arrived on time. The handles look feel like quality construction and they all installed perfectly. It was challenging to find longer screws for attaching since the drawers needed longer screws. They are metric so I had to order the new ones online after determining the two big box stores.
